On Monday, Carol and I drove to KC and celebrated Russ Niemi´s birthday. He is now as old as I!! Carol rested for a while at Bob and Pats and then drove back to the lake. I spent the night and Pat took me to the airport by 8am on Tues. I was the only customer in the American checkin, but it soon became crowded.
The flights to Brasil went nicely until we landed and then my luggage was in the last container unloaded from the plane, so I waited impatiently with about 20 other passengers. As we exited to the general receiving area, anyone with a mask (for swine flu) was being interviewed by three TV stations and photographed by several newspapers. I slipped by all of this to meet my waving family. The Brasilian sun is hot in the afternoon, but mornings are getting chilly at 60 degrees.
