Entrance to MTC Latino Americano, Montes Claros

MTC Latin America will celebrate their 25th Anniversary in October 2009. The property was the gift to the organization. Typically 40 students with a staff of 15 are at the site each semester. This semester is not as full, but next year a larger group is expected. That works out nicely for me, as their is a 2 room apartment unit available for me. Unfortunately there is no computer hookup, so I am at Sara and Wem doing my blog.

The photo is the entrance to the property which is at the end of a VERY rough road. Grandpa Willard would be out with tractor and shovel leveling and fixing. The rainy season has just ended and the road is at its worst. The farming portion of the property is rented to other farmers to generate income. Originally it was worked by the students, but this distracted from their studies and was inconsistent from year to year. I will provide more photos of the buildings and grounds in the future.

We went grocery shopping on this trip out of the complex. The store had underground parking which is nice when raining or hot sun. Plus it almost guarantees a parking space which is quite different than the EPA store in Belo area.
