Alec is TWO

We gathered at Kim and Shannons at about 3:30 on the 27th.  Alec's real birthday is today the 28th.
Of course we ate too much, but the chatter and laughter were just right!!  Wish you could have been there.

It was our first chance to meet "boy" Aaron -- of course "girl" Erin was with him!!  Korbyn just kept entertaining everyone all afternoon.  Thanks to all who planned, participated and partook!!

Rachel's Jacket

Jacket that their cheer team won at Indianapolis in January.  We were planning to attend, but a snow storm interrupted our plans, again!!    They are in Dallas this weekend to compete at another nationwide event.  Photo taken in early Feb when we finally got to celebrate Christmas and get 28 inches of snow dumped on Maryland!!

Rotating Shelves by Bob

Bob who is married to Gail built these turntables for the shelves to the left and  above the stove.  They are split down the middle so they can be inserted into the cabinet.  With the reinsertion of 5 small bolts the turntables were reassembled.  Access to items in the back of the cabinets is MUCH easier.  Thanks Bob.  Enjoy your skiing.

Pelicans in February

We thought it was a wierd flock of geese coming over Camp Sabre, but binoculars showed it was a flock of PELICANS!!
They flap their wings much slower and glide.  Their pace is slow and rythmic.  They had white bodies with black wing tips.  By the time I got the camera they were over our house and they flew North over the cathedral and off to places unknown.

We Made it Back Tues Feb 9, 2010

We finally made it back to the lake after an extended weekend in Baltimore area.  Tried to post on Hot Mail, but it is refusing to load.  Roads were patchy most of the way from KC.  Bob picked us up at the KC airport - the plane was an hour late taking off from BWI.  We stayed the night - thanks Bob and Pat - and drove home this morn, arriving about 11am.  Carol had aerobics so I worked on the roads.  Big sheet of granular ice (sleet) underneath some snow.  Very slick.  Very cold, I don't think it reached 20 degrees.  Will finish unpacking and watch a little tv before an early night to bed.

Snow in North East.

The picture on the left has Eric hidden behind the little tree and just behind the black pickup.  He is snow blowing the neighbors drive.  The neighbor lady is using a shovel in the front of the p/u but is not visible.  The neighbor in the light grey house loaned us the gas propelled snow blower and it is really struggling to handle the 20-24 inch snow which has drifted in some areas so is even deeper.  We had cleared about 4 inches before we went to bed, but woke up to THIS!!.  Sammi spent more time finding the clothes and putting them on than she did wandering around and "helping" daddy.  She did come back in with VERY rosy cheeks.  It is about 4pm and it looks like the snow has finally stopped.  Maybe if we clean the drive before dark it will still be nice in the morning.  Hopefully we will be able to get to the airport early Monday morn.  The snowplows will have to due superwork on superbowl sunday.  Enjoy the game.
