Wem's Great Grandparents in Belo

Friday morning walk to greatgrandparents. A rain shower had stopped about 30 minutes earlier, so we carried 3 umbrellas just -in-case!! 1) The guys. Max, Lucas, Wem, great grandpa, grandpa Ron

         2) The group minus Sara who took the picture.  Some of the garden in the background.

3) The yellow couch which was the favorite room for Lucas. He either stayed in this room or went outside. Great grandpa has moderate alzheimers and we had to keep re-introducing ourselves

4) Great grandpa, grandpa Ron, Sara, grandma Lena, greatgrandma. His wife said he will be 88 this year. She will be 83 and has outlived her doctors prediction by 10-15 years. Her arteries are clogged and could be blocked completely at any time, so she talked about how she didn't want any cut flowers at her funeral. She wants potted plants that can be put in the garden to grow again. Her garden is really a treat to see with orchids, roses, colorful foliage and nice trees. Sara says she has a gift with plants. Great grandma has evidently controlled her health by watching her diet including using flax in many ways in her food preparation.

Belo Birthday #2 Bash for Lucas

The Belo crew had a surprise early birthday party for Lucas before I arrived. I'm sure that sister/aunt Christi was the main planner for the event.

(1) Opening gifts - Sara, Lucas, Grandma Lena, neighbor lady, Max

(2)  Sara, Max, Lucas, Wemerson singing "parabens voce" (happy birthday to you)

Yes, decorations are BIG in Brasil!!!  Lucas will be 2 in late May, but we will be in Rio so they had the party early.

3) Christiani, Lucas and Max waiting for the candle blowing and cake cutting.  Lucas reportedly tried to put the long wicked candle out with his FINGERS!!

Play Time

Grandma  Lena's veranda has become the play station for the guys.  As you can see, the "expensive" boxes are getting a good workout.  Toys strewn everywhere is typical and we try to pick them up and organize several times a day.  Max is much taller and more slender in real life than he appears in photos.  Lucas is Lucas and Kim would probably call him a match for Alec!!  Yep, he has strong opinions!!

Dino Straws

Max thinks the dino straws are great.  Thank you Kelly, Eric and Sammi.  Nothing else has been unpacked until we get to Montes.  Wem needed some tools for electrical work and I knew where the new orange tool box was with some universal tools I had brought along. So I removed it from the large expandable bag and these straws were packed safely in the box.  Lucas dips and drinks from the end he has dipped.  I sure he will learn the concept soon.  He is not patient enough to suck until the liquid traverses thru the whole long  swirly straw.

To Brasil and Beyondd??

Bob and Pat visited while the dogwoods and redbuds were still NICE.
I leave for Brasil Tues Apr 27 and return May 27.  If you get bored, you can come visit Carol and help her weed the garden.  The recent rains have made everything just jump out of the ground.  Hope your gardens are green, too.
More later from Brasil.  Will try to keep this more current.

Some Spring things

Our favorite flower is the pink one in the upper left photo amongst the daffodils!!  The other pink flower is a "late" Christmas cactus.  The orange is a surprise amaryllis that had never bloomed before!!  The bright yellow forsythia are the true harbingers of Spring.  Dogwoods are almost ready to POP!!

Aaron and Erin's Wedding

The pictures are out of order!!  Sorry.  Gary, Lee, Ava, Savana with Sammi in background at the Seward Room reception dinner.  I think they are sneaking some of the Easter eggs which were at each guests setting.
Sammi, Kelly and Korbyn  -- the girls all dressed up for a party!!

The wedding vows.  Preacher is hidden behind Aaron and Erin.  Shelby is in the gray suit.  Ayden is by the bridesmaids.  He looked fantastic in the tuxedo and new hair cut!!

Exiting the church with bubbles (barely visible)by the guests. Aaron and Erin are just to the left of the outstretched arms of the "photographer" with the white blouse.   They were about to enter the REALLY LONG black limo!!

A visit by granddaughter, Samantha Joy. Oh, and her dad, too.

It has been a grand time having Miss Samantha visit us this past week.  We went to T-REX and had lunch and shopped and did activities.  Luke and Sammi road horses at Miss Catherines.  Grandma Carol and Sammi made daddy's favorite lasagna.  Miss Sammi tried out the jewelers magnifier which fits on the head with a plastic apparatus.  I missed the picture of the fish she caught.  The first one got off the hook before we got it to the dock, but the second one was a true CATCH.
