It started last Wednesday and by Sunday evening we had over 5.25 inches of rain. The showers just kept rolling over us!! We dumped water from our flower pot drip pans 4 times this week. The cathedral was really "roaring" when this shot was taken.
The cooling fan for the radiator on the 2007 Town and Country minivan stopped working. First quote was $350 for replacing the dual cooling fan assembly (can't buy a replacement fan --although it would be really easy to replace a single fan) plus $75 for labor to instal. Being a thrifty Nebraska farm boy, I decided to check local salvage yards and parts stores. No used fan assemblies to be found, so parts stores pricing ranged from $175 to $205. To the internet where prices ranged from $98 to $105. Order one and with freight it cost $125. So Sunday I started removing things to get to the assembly and was doing great until I ran into a couple of troublesome electrical connectors. With the help of a neighbor we finally solved the sticky connectors. Then we examined the fan assembly to make sure it would fit. The electrical connectors required a larger area to "fit" than the new assembly had available, so I disassembled the fans and filed out a "groove" to give clearance for the connector. All of this was done while the Sunday Showers were stopping/starting/stopping/starting. Finally succeded about 4:30 pm when I started about 9am!! And yes, the individual fans are VERY EASILY removed from the ASSEMBLY.
I hope to use the 12 volt good fan as an air moving device in the greenhouse using the solar charged battery energy.
ttfn. We are cleaning like crazy as the Harrops arrive tomorrow.
