Carol had talked with Charlie and Joan, but she had more conversation with Sara and Jana, the two daughters who were delivered by Dr. Horseman.  Carol had been working in his office during the summer and was indirectly "in" on the deliveries.

We drove to KC for the event and stopped by Sally's to exchange DVDs that Carol had borrowed previously.  Sally also had a 2pm event to attend, so our visit was short.

Dr Carlson's Retirement

Dr Robert Carlson was my professor/mentor at KU.  He retires this year after 50 years of teaching at KU.  To my knowledge, Dr and Bea have lived in the same house that whole time.  He is best known for teaching undergraduates organic chemistry.  Prof Givens relayed that his knee doc, dentist and chiropractor all asked him if he knew Dr Bob!!  All of them had taken organic chem from Dr Bob!!

Dr will keep an office in the chem department for ?? years.  He stopped taking grad students 5 years ago - which is department policy for professors reaching retirement age.

Sam let Korbyn blew out the large two (worth 20 little candles) with 2 single candles.  Yep he is getting older, too.

Kristi liked her policeman build-a-bear present that she got for Raena!!!  Sure she did???

This routine was a ball!!  They started and ended by sitting on the balls with backs to audience.  Nice routine.

A little clowning around to brighten one's day!!

 Bob and Pat provided room and board for two days while Carol was still in MD and I was working on rental near KU Med and attending Dr. Carlson's 50th year of teaching and retirement at KU, Lawrence.
      I've planted the pussy toes and yellow flowered bush starts that they gave me.  Their garden to the right is for butterflies.  All types of specific plants and flowers to encourage larva and butterfly growth.
   

The sun was bright!!  Pat was just recovering from an ankle sprain she suffered while playing pickle ball.

She ordered the cake that she wanted.  Chocolate under white icing and white cake under purple frosting.

The girls then spent the night at Eric and Kelly's.  They were in the basement so we didn't hear much on the second floor where our beds were located.  Thank you, Thank you!!
