SPING has SPRUNG a LEAK

Well it is not a lot of white stuff, but for the first full day of SPRING it is mucho disappointo.  The shower for Erin is still on in California MO.  Carol will attend, but I will transplant some small veggie starts into larger containers and clean some rocks so that when the weather warms, I can get back to extending the height of the rock wall below the main deck.
Weather reports indicate that Eric's will have 70's while we will be lucky to break out of the 30's.  KC airport had 7-8 inches of snow last night.  Forecast is for more rain and snow throughout the day.  It is strange, as the rain clouds are moving from the southeast to the north and west!!

Ava and Savana's Party Mar 14, 2010

It was a fun day!!  Grandmas got their "fixes" with the kids.  Dora the Explora was the primary gift theme and Alec was lots of help with opening and "sharing" Ava's gifts!!

Alec liked to hold the screw top for the bottle in his mouth and run around.  He looked a lot like Porky Pig!!  This was the only picture I got Kim.  Wish it had been straight on face, sorry.

Savana, sorry I didn't get any shots of you!!

Some things around the cove. Enjoy the sunshine!!

Our snowdrops are rather droopy, but they do give us hope that spring and green thingies are in the future!!
I have started hand digging out the end of the cove where the boat ramp used to be obvious.   The wierd shape in the middle of the picture is a cleared spot down to  concrete ramp which is under 12-18 inches of muck, rock, gravel, sticks, etc.  I'm shoveling most of it up against the concrete seawall to reduce the erosion that has occurred over the past 8-10 years.  Come on down and get your excercise!!   The Wheel barrow to the upper left and the 2 x 5 gallon pails above the cleared spot will give a size and depth to the scene

Alec is TWO

We gathered at Kim and Shannons at about 3:30 on the 27th.  Alec's real birthday is today the 28th.
Of course we ate too much, but the chatter and laughter were just right!!  Wish you could have been there.

It was our first chance to meet "boy" Aaron -- of course "girl" Erin was with him!!  Korbyn just kept entertaining everyone all afternoon.  Thanks to all who planned, participated and partook!!

Rachel's Jacket

Jacket that their cheer team won at Indianapolis in January.  We were planning to attend, but a snow storm interrupted our plans, again!!    They are in Dallas this weekend to compete at another nationwide event.  Photo taken in early Feb when we finally got to celebrate Christmas and get 28 inches of snow dumped on Maryland!!

Rotating Shelves by Bob

Bob who is married to Gail built these turntables for the shelves to the left and  above the stove.  They are split down the middle so they can be inserted into the cabinet.  With the reinsertion of 5 small bolts the turntables were reassembled.  Access to items in the back of the cabinets is MUCH easier.  Thanks Bob.  Enjoy your skiing.

Pelicans in February

We thought it was a wierd flock of geese coming over Camp Sabre, but binoculars showed it was a flock of PELICANS!!
They flap their wings much slower and glide.  Their pace is slow and rythmic.  They had white bodies with black wing tips.  By the time I got the camera they were over our house and they flew North over the cathedral and off to places unknown.
