2012 New Years Eve Day

Woke up to this on Dec 31.

It totaled about 2 very wet inches of snow by noon.  Tried to get a minivan up the hill but it was too slippery.  Bladed the road and was able to get to the mail at North Shore.  Bob and Gloria had tried to get to Eldon early in morning with 4WD pickup but ended up sideways soon after they started on the blacktop.  Finally got turned around and parked at Baxter's for the day.

2012 Christmas Gifts

The bags were decorated by Kim, LucyLea and helpers.  Carol E made pillows from old quilts and gave several sizes and shapes to the ladies.

Inside the bags, fruit, candies, peanuts, candy canes, Max & bis & cheese crackers from Brasil, bag of candy from LucyLea,Pat & Gary.

Top left candle (red bow), coffee maker (single cup for the guys), Tang (gag gift from Sam), CD of family photos by Carol A, glass cutting boards to all ladies, Christmas apron- two fun kitchen gadgets-soup mix- that Pat put in gag gift, blueberry & pear jelly from Shannon, play dough, "Me" shorts (gag from ??).  Lots of other items including a jar of dehydrated water that JP traded his hand lotions for. 

Some apparel that Ron received.  A giraffe head gear, KU snuggy, and Christmas apron.

Sorry, Eric and Kelly that you had to drive both ways with snow and bad roads.  Checking with SW Air showed that Ashley should have reached home 15 minutes late due to late start out of Las Vegas.

Christmas at the Lake

Friday, Dec 28 mid morning we had the Ron family celebration.  Note that Eric and Sammi are "into" presents while Savana and Ashley are intent on some electronic item.  Savana plays a chop-the-fruit game while Ashley texts!!

Grandma Carol opens the first present while the rest wait with "baited breath"!!

Thanks guys for the gifts.  The giraffe "cutlery" items and the hat/gloves combo were the most unique!!

The start of Christmas 2012 at the lake.

Ashley's plane arrived on time and she carried on her NEW luggage so we didn't even have to go to baggage area.  Straight to the car and McD for a sandwich.  Southwest didn't even give out peanuts on a 3 hour flight from Portland!!

The tree (small as it may be) was decorated and the floor was laden with presents.  Some are quite heavy as they are White Elephants!!

We took a walk up thru the cathedral and choir loft and ended up at Sis's.

Someone was thirsty and wanted a drink.

Sis was "forced" to stop vacuuming.

She got the water for Sammi and then fixed coffee

And shared some sweet "bread" from Strawberry Hill area of KC, KS

And to our surprise

Sammi won the game!!!!

Christmas Concerts

On the way to the church for graduation.  The power went out in the whole city soon after this photo and didn't come back on until about 7:30 pm.  Ceremony was supposed to start at 7pm!!  Yep, some anxious moments.

The crowd was getting restless as the whole Finke theatre filled to the brim.

Korbyn is just under the chin of the "taller" teacher.  Korby does her "own" thing occasionally.  The young'uns were a hoot to watch.  Kinda like pushing worms across the stage!!!

Ava is the one in the middle with hand on the ballet bar.  They demo'd basic ballet steps and later did a tap routine
