The "renewed" computer doesn't let me do my normal thing, but I was able to build a couple of snowmen so Lucas and Max. We were forecast to get snow again today, but it stayed north of I-70. Thank you!! Sara reported that it was only 98 in Brasil!!

Snow Jan 11, 2011
Carol attempted to catch the snow falling last night, but you really have to look carefully to see some small blurry spots in the above photo.
When we got up this morn, we were greeted with cold, overcast skies with a few spits and dribbles left over from the storm which has headed east. I had alerted ReStore Camdenton that I probably wouldn't be there today. Good call, as it took me about 20 minutes to clean off the car and the snow around it. I'm taking a break and then will see if the tractor can do any good on the roads. Wish me luck!! No, I'm not going sledding unless it is truely accidentally.

Auctioneer Chant.
I hope this plays ok for you. It took FOREVER to load onto blogger. Turn up the volume?? Richard Moffat is selling an item, not the one that the gentleman puts on the table in front of the camera. I think #268 is the buyer number for the item that was being sold at this time.
Moffat Auction Jan 2, 2011
Sorry about the ladies head. It is not Carol. Richard Moffat, the main auctioneer and owner of the facility, is seated at the white raised area in the back/middle of the picture. He has a New Years Day auction, but moved it to the 2nd this year. We had to leave Rocky Mount at 7:30 to make it to just west of Linn, MO (Hiway 50 east of Jeff City) by the 9am start of the auction. Lots of interesting items to bid on as there were several people consigning stuff (junk and treasures!!).
This is some of the junk that was put outside and was sold in a "second ring" which started about 10am and went past 1pm. I thought I might try to buy some interesting stuff, but decided the wind was TOO cold so went back inside to bid with Carol.
Some old furniture repair shop must have dumped off 30-50 "marginal" chairs in the outside sales arena. The furniture inside the building which lined the walls was quite good and would probably bring good money, but we left about 2pm when they switched to selling a LONG table full of guns, ammo and knives. Could have stayed all day and bid on some very interesting items on tables had not been started, yet!! We did leave a few dollars on some fun items. Who knows, some of them may end up in the white elephant Christmas exchange in Dec 2011!!
