Don't have any pictures to share. Forgot to take my camera on Saturday for Sweet Corn Days at Rocky Mount. Went about 8am to volunteer, but nothing to do. Hung around for a while and then saw that no one was sacking and hawking the bags of a dozen ears for $6 so spent the rest of the day (mainly 10:30 to 4) sacking up corn and collecting some money. I had 17 large mesh bags emptied by the time it ended. Each of these big bags held 5 dozen ears, so I know we sold at least 75 dozen -- make that 80, as one lady bought a bag of 5 dozen. The event is quite spread out and "starts" at County Line Restaurant and goes to Uncle Sams. They had craft, etc booths by the sports bar, the Lions club had bingo, a car show was at the vets and sweet corn was being sold roasted, fried, and ??? Hope they made some money for the fire department.
This morning we headed for Moffat Auction by Linn, MO. It is 15 miles east of Jeff. Got there about 9:15 for a 9:30 start. Very big and pushy crowd on hand. Lots of JUNK. We only stayed an hour and then had to stop by Central Dairy in Jeff for Bear Claw ice cream on a regular cone. LOTS of traffic headed toward Jeff on Hiway 54. The strong wind must be chasing people off the lake early today.
